'Lookup values' is something you can utilize e.g. when designing labels with the advanced label editor.
In short, Lookup values will enable you to look up almost anything in an underlying crosstab: Member names from specific rows and columns, values from various measures and calculations, etc.
Very useful when you have a chart that at first glance should give the end-user the quick overview of data, but when examined further, mouse over labels may contain a load of additional useful information.

G'Day Ole,
Is the column reference dynamic, so would it point to whatever is in the 1st/2nd/3rd... column?
So when the year changes or I change the reference date for a dynamic period the lookups would still work?
Thanks,
Florian
Hi Florian,
Now, we need to be careful about what we mean by 'dynamic' here. :-)
In my video, when I change the lookup column reference from 'dynamic' to 'static', I am making a static lookup on column #1, column #2, column #3 etc.
Let's say my three columns right now contain data for 2019, 2020 and 2021. Let's say this is due to a dynamic criteria looking at the last three years. As we move into 2022, these three columns will then start showing data for 2020, 2021 and 2022.
So, in this year (2021) my static lookup on column #1 will show 2019 data. When we move into next year (2022) my static lookup on column #1 will show 2020 data.
I hope this makes sense.
BR / Ole
