Drop down menus on Dashboard

Hello there!

I was wondering if it is possible - through some kind of magic - to create drop down menus on the dashboard itself.
I am fully aware that you can add menues like these to the criteria bar. However, I was wondering if it possible to get the menues, not on the criteria bar, but directly on the dashboard?

Kind regards,

Mads
