Auto-refresh data on dashboards and objects

With close-to-live data, we currently have the option to use slideshows or scheduled publishing, where the data objects can be updated automatically within a certain timeframe (provided that data has been updated in the data source as well).

Slideshows and scheduled publishing limit the user so that they cannot drill into the data. My suggestion is adding functionality that allow users to set up auto-refresh for both specific objects or whole dashboards.

Further notes

• A Designer user can decide whether an object/dashboard auto-refreshes.
• Objects should probably only auto-refresh in consumer mode.
• It would also be nice to be able to select how often it should auto-refresh (down to seconds).
