Allow sorting on the batch processing window of a scheduled job

Allow sorting on the batch processing window of a scheduled job.  We have jobs that run over 12 hours so we have to split them right now into 2 jobs, and we split by removing batch elements, which requires upkeep as the list of batch elements grows. Instead, if we could sort the batch elements we could set one to basically work A-Z and the other to work Z-A and they might have some overlap in the middle but at least things would complete.
