Empower Designers To Hide Object Bar Buttons
📢 Why This Matters:
In the current Targit BI setup, dashboard users often face confusion, particularly when interacting with certain object bar buttons. The inability to hide specific buttons, like the hierarchy toggles and the info (i) button, can lead users astray. For instance, users might inadvertently expand to the next level in the hierarchy, encountering data in a format not intended for their use. Additionally, the (i) button, designed to show criteria for the data in an object, often presents information in a raw, database-centric language that is perplexing for most users. This leads to a counterproductive experience where users seeking clarity end up more bewildered.
🛠️ Suggested Feature:
Introduce the capability for dashboard designers on Targit BI to customize the visibility of object bar buttons. This feature will ensure that users see only the buttons relevant to their needs, reducing the risk of unintentional navigation and confusion. It also allows the hiding of the (i) button or tailoring its visibility, depending on the audience's expertise level, thereby preventing exposure to complex, database-specific information that may not be user-friendly.
🌟 Benefits:
-
Efficiency: By providing only the necessary buttons, we streamline user interaction, making dashboards more intuitive and significantly reducing the time users spend navigating through unnecessary options.
-
Ease of Use: A less cluttered interface with tailored button visibility simplifies the user experience. Users are not overwhelmed by technical details or options irrelevant to their needs, leading to a more straightforward and effective interaction with the dashboard.
Hit 👍 if you want clearer, more user-friendly Targit BI dashboards.

I agree that this would be a great idea.
In addition to this I could use an option to show the expand/collapse (+/-) buttons on a hierarchy permanently (an not just as a mouse over). So it could be nice if this request was implemented with more actions. (a) To hide the buttons and informations, (b) to show buttons (as mouseover or permanent visibility) and hide informations or vise versa, or (c) show both (as mouse over or permanent visibility).
I agree - Great addition Louise! 🎯
That is great news! Thanks for the heads up Ole :)
Thanks Ole and team! 💪
