Help with dynamic captions
Hello:
I am fairly new to Targit and am having trouble with dynamic captions. I have a basic financial KPI where the measure is prior year actual and the criteria is set to current month. The result is the actual amount for the same month, prior year. However, I have not found a way to include a dynamic caption that shows the correct (prior) year. It seems to be driven purely by the current month criteria and always shows the current year in the caption.
I was considering posting a feature request but wanted to make sure I am not missing something first.

You can certainly achieve this.
From your description my guess is that you are using a month attribute to set up the criteria to current month.
In that case you are right, in dynamic content on the criteria tab, this is what will be reflected.
You can do 2 things:
1. use a hierarchy that holds year and month for filtering and dynamic content or...
2. use the member tab in dynamic criteria to show which year is refleced. (in the member tab you can show any attribute you like, and not just the one used for criteria).
Solution no 2 has a performance penalty, since it generates a query to find out which year to show.

Thank you for your response. Our date criteria is a hierarchy that includes YQMD. I had added that to the criteria bar, then selected "current month" under the dynamic dates category.
