JOB Execution - Personalized Status of empty result Reports

Hi Marc, I heard that in the latest version reports with empty results will not fail anymore but send an empty report to the users. TARGIT team says it is not a bug but a change.

in our Enviroment (V2024), no Report was sent out when all the Data Objects has been empty.

Only a Warning. Now with V2025, we get an Error, which is always confusing because sometimes it's normal that Reports have no data.

So the best way would be to have an option about the type of status that should be produced.

I find this also quite confusing, and this is why are not using the error notification in Targit.

An empty report is not an error, as it executed. Now what is missing on top of that would be something like data driven subscriptions in SQL Server Reports. There I can "suppress" the report from printout by defining an expression based on my data, and even influence the execution parameters with the expression.

An upvote on this request. An option to surpress errors would be good. But even more important is to suppress reports with no data are sending via E-Mail.

I fully agree with Stephan Fehrmann here. We just updated from an older version, and suddenly we start receiving empty reports, where we previously wouldn't receive anything.

We have quite a few reports set up to catch different kind of outliers. In the past this has worked fine, and the users have only received a report, when there was actually data in it.

Now we send out mostly empty reports, and I can already see my colleagues starting to ignore these mails, so I am very concerned that they will not see, when there once in a while is data shown, and they need to ACT.

Has there been any follow-up on this?

I agree with Stephan and Simon — we have just updated Targit, and now reports with empty results are being sent out to our users. They find this a bit annoying, and we share Simon’s concern that some reports may end up being ignored.

Could it be an opportunity to add a button to each scheduled job, enabled by default, so that empty reports are not sent out? Users could then disable this if they want empty reports to be sent.
