In addition to 'drill-to' having 'exclude-to'

Within TARGIT, the user can interact with the tables and graphs.
Moreover, selecting a dimension member from such elements, will filter the other objects accordingly: drill-to criteria.

However, drill-to criteria are always limited to the dimension members that are selected.
It is therefore not an ideal tool to exclude certain dimension members like outliers from benchmarks.
This because it means that all 'good' dimension members must be selected to eliminate the 'bad' -members.

In other words, we are looking for a feature that enables the user to exclude certain dimensions from analysis.
It is basically doing the opposite of a drill-to criteria, let's name it 'exclude-to criteria' for now!

  • Hi Jelle

Are you aware that there is an option to use filter delegate to achieve what you want?

it is a bit of a work-around, but should do exactly what you want.

  • Hi Niels Thomsen,

    Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I am aware of this. But what I meant, is that the user can choose between drill-to and filter delegate ('exclude-to').

Or would you suggest to add an additional table with filter delegate, that the user can use when it is about excluding dimension members, because the 'normal' tables can then be used for the drill-to criteria?

  • Well I guess you could do that - and even use the toggle feature to switch between the slicer that is including and excluding values.

Anyway, I think your feature request is still valid, as my suggesting is basically a work-around.
