Load on startup error when document deleted

Apparently a deleted document that has been added to a 'load on startup' can cause an error everytime you open a web page or client window to work on documents and the only way to fix is to add another document to 'load on startup'. I believe it should not cause and error but was informed to request this as a feature request to improve on instead of it being something that needs to fix.  What if I don't want any documents to be a 'load on startup'? Why should I create another 'load to start up' on another document and then remove it so that it doesn't error on anything anymore?  Is this really the best solution?
