PostgreSQL DLL available as Server Assembly in InMemory

We can of course connect to PostgreSQL in Data Discovery and there's also an InMemory data source available. Tick.

The InMemory data source, however, currently requires a local npgsql.dll file (which can be found in one of the Data Discovery folders). I suggest we make this DLL available as a Server Assembly such that the data source can be configured using credentials only (no mocking around with DLLs).

  • Hi Søren,

I got a reply from the developers.

You should open the TARGIT InMemory Scheduler Management client in Management mode ("Manage local" from the login dialog).

Then, in Assemblies, you can add the Npgsql.dll from C:\Program Files\TARGIT\TARGIT Data Service\Plugins\PostgreSQL.

This should make it a permanent assembly - for InMemory ETL as well.

  • Thanks, Ole ... this is somewhat prettier than what I ended up doing 😀

We're live and the client is happy, but I'll still get this fixed up the correct way!

    Once again, thanks!
