Data Model editor with models with more than one fact-table?

Does the Data Model Editor allow multiple fact tables in a data model?

  • For a normal cube, you're just able to select one fact table, but you are able to define a virtual cube, where you add two (or more) existing cubes with different fact tables

  • Yes just add both your fact tables and create shared dimensions which both tables join to, then you can view all together.

  • Combining facttables over dimensions is killing performance and a no-go in standard reporting.

    Is Targit working differently?

  • Hi Dirk,

In my data model I have as an example something like below, then create the cubes, share the dimension attributes and put together in a virtual master cube. I've not had any performance issues using the below in Targit, is very quick with in memory.
