Cancelling of scheduled jobs

Hello Targit people,

Is there a way to cancel a scheduled job?

I have a report which is running into an endless loop (can reproduce this by manually exporting to PDF), and due to this the scheduler can never finish the job. So I would like to cancel the job, but as it turns out, there is no option to do so.

Is the only way to cancel jobs to restart the Targit service? Users kind of dislike the service getting restarted while they are working.

As a workaround, I was able to fix the endless loop and created a second job (which does finish), but it would be nice to have the possibility to cancel a job which is running as well.

Thanks,

Florian

  • Hello Florian,

Were you ever able to find a way to end a scheduled job?

    Thanks,

  • Hi Matt,

Yes by killing the Targit.exe assigned to the job. We have the issue that one of our jobs is hanging from time to time. As this job is updating a dashboard which is important in our operations, and furthermore is running 24/7, I created a powershell script which scans the server for Targit-Processes that are running longer than 10/20/30/60 minutes. If Targit.exe runs for longer than 60 minutes, it gets killed by the script.

As we do not have any active users on our Targit server, we are pretty certain it is one of those hanging jobs.

    Cheers,

    Florian
