Flexible filtering with similar user dimensions

Hi all,

my customer has articles in their item list. Unfortunately, their source system do not have any grouping logics for these articles (they have, but not as we need them in specific analysis purposes), so we need to solve this in TARGIT via user dimensions.

  • Product 1
  • Product 2
  • Product 3
  • Product 4

So we create a user dimension "Veggie/Chicken" to classify them.

  • Veggie: Product 1, Product 2
  • Chicken: Product 3, Product 4

On top of that, we create a 2nd user dimension "Burger King/Mc Donalds" to classify them into another logic:

  • Burger King: Product 1, Product 3
  • Mc Donalds: Product 2, Product 4

The tables in TARGIT look like this:

The problem in TARGIT is, that filtering to Burger King inside the lower table, we still see the Product 2 and Product 4 in the upper table. This is because we use THE SAME attribute (in this case Product).. the filter is not working.

The only workaround is to use different attributes, like Product Name and Product No. Then the filtering is fine.

It would be great to have an option inside the user dimension settings to allow filters on the same attribute.
