Report layout changes through scrolling after updating to Controlling 2019
Hello,
i have a report that looks like this:
I recently update from Controlling 2017k4 to Controlling 2019. The report still looks like this after the update but when I scroll down this happens in the Controlling Client
Sometimes the lines also get compressed so that it looks quiet pressed together. I tried to fix my Layout settings (I defined a layout with frames for the calculation lines and so on) but it didn't help. Could this be an error created by the update? Should I simply rebuild the report in the 2019? If so is there a simple way to copy the layout settings? Or do I have to set each calculation again?
Thank you in advance

Hi Michael,
I am not sure why you get these extra, empty columns in your crosstab.
Notice that you will probably need to convert your reports to the new layout anyway - at some point. The last version to support the old reports layout is the TARGIT 2021, build 19280 - and we already passed that.
If you should want to give it a try by rebuilding the report, there is a useful video guide here: https://community.targit.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406118193425-Report-conversion-from-Classical-reports-to-new-report-format

Hi Ole,
thank you for the answer. I just realized I used the wrong word. This is a crosstab not a report. This crosstab or analysis worked in 2017k4 but in 2019 I get this "layout issues". The crosstab in itself looks like this
Vergleich is a User Dimension I created and it contains several cost centre selections. I suspect that the issue is something in the style of the table which perhaps was converted "wrongly" to 2019.
Ok Michael,
Got it. :-)
It is just a crosstab coming from a 2017 version to a 2019 version. What is the exact TARGIT 2019 version (build number - you should be able to find it in the 'About')?
I've checked our bug history and there were a lot of bug fixes related to layout conversion issues like this in the first couple of 2019 versions. I can't tell for sure, but maybe your issue has been corrected in one of the later versions.

Hi Ole,
my current version is 2019 5.0 build 206(16297). I suspect it might be a version problem though updating might be a bit complicated as I use an accounting software which might not be compatible with a newer version of Targit

Hi Ole,
I have a follow up question. I redid my crosstab I used as basis for the old report format. The crosstab looks fine now but when I use it in a new report (old format) unfortunately this happens
This greyed area is a text line I use as a header for the following numbers. If I try to "repair" this in the crosstab this gap wanders in the report to another text line. This only happens to one text line not every line. I assume that this is a bug in my current Client version which is 5 build 206 (16297). Or might this be a design issue on my end?
I don't know of any design options that will be able to replicate or prevent what you are describing. I would consider this a bug in your older version of TARGIT.
