Margin and padding for text boxes

I was wondering if it is possible for a margin and padding feature to be added onto the textbox properties. As of now it seems as if the only way to move text within a box, or any measure for that sake, is with spaces. Just like the integration of HTML with CSS, I would like to see two properties added; padding and margin, with the ability to add (or subtract) these from individual sides (top, bottom, right, left) as well. This way, one can place and design with more accuracy.
