Jobs overview in start menu
Since this version of TARGIT, the scheduled jobs overview has moved from the file ribbon to the start ribbon...
Job editing dialogue changes
...and the dialogue for creating or editing scheduled jobs has been changed significantly.
The old dialogue looked like this with different sections available on the left-hand side:
The new dialogue is tab based, and offers a complete overview of all the properties of the job in one view (notice - depending on your screen resolution it may be presented slightly differently and may involve scrolling):
Advantages
This way of working with your scheduled jobs offers a number of advantages:
- You have a full overview of all the properties of the job that you are working on (including the log for the job that you are editing, which was available only on right click menu in the old dialogue)
- The pencil symbol in each part of the dialogue offers you to dive into details for that particular part of the job - this keeps a nice balance between overview and details
- You can open another tab to investigate something while keeping this dialogue open (previously, you had to close the dialogue to do this)...
- ...in fact, you can multiselect from the scheduled jobs overview and choose to see properties and all these jobs, and they will open (each on one tab in the TARGIT client)
- Notice also the copy/paste icons in each part of the dialogue - you can copy a choice of schedule and paste it into a number of other jobs
Jobs = Documents
In general jobs are more or less like documents in this version, so in your daily work, you might have a number of documents and jobs open in the TARGIT client and work with them simultaneously (and copy/paste between them).
Notifications more visible
Another change can be seen when you add a new scheduled job (still from the file ribbon just like before):
Now you get the offer to add either a scheduled export or a notification agent (in the old version, the notification agent was only available through right click menus).
