Many Scheduled jobs may be configured to deliver a single output, e.g., a single PDF file to the recipients (email, folder, publishing or subscription) as defined in the Delivery option.
However, a Scheduled job can also be configured to work with a distribution list of dimension members and to create an output file for each of these dimension members. Each dimension member will then work as a filter on each of the output files.
The list of dimension members is configured in one of two ways:
- Batch distribution
- Dynamic distribution
With Batch distribution, you can create a fixed distribution list from members from a dimension. You can choose to include all members from the dimension, or you can manually pick the members to be included in the list. When run, the job will create content (e.g., a PDF report) for each of these members, applying the member as a filter to each output.

With Dynamic distribution, the distribution list is created as a crosstab in TARGIT. You can add measures, calculations, visibility agents, further dimensions, etc. to this table. In this way, the distribution list will become dynamic and flexible - it will automatically include or exclude members in the list according to conditions defined by you.
From the Scheduled Job tab, go to the Dynamic distribution tile to specify a new Dynamic distribution list.
You will be asked to create a Dynamic distribution crosstab.
The Dynamic distribution crosstab is created like any other crosstab in the TARGIT Designer client.
If your dimension members furthermore contains email addresses, then, from the Properties Smartpad, you can select to use these email addresses for the automated distribution.
Note: The 'Delivery email' options for Dynamic distribution will only be available if the Scheduled Job's 'Delivery' option is set to 'Email'. If you specify a Delivery email in the 'Dynamic distribution' settings, it will override the email address(es) in the 'Delivery' setting. Likewise, if you select 'No selection' in the 'Dynamic distribution' settings, it will instead use the email address(es) in the 'Delivery' setting.
