Using the Query Log

This information may be used in Analysis Services to design aggregations that are based on the actual usage of the OLAP databases.

In the Analysis Services project, first select one of the partitions and then click the Usage Based Optimization button.

The Usage-Based Optimization Wizard will take us through a few steps to further specify which queries from the OlapQueryLog table should be used for the aggregation design.

Several filters are available to pin-point the interesting queries.

Select or de-select the queries to be included in the aggregation design. Most occurrences are listed on top.
