Sometimes dates are not recognized - or maybe even worse misinterpreted, and we have to fix it before the dates are stored correctly in Data Discovery.
This data source looks straight forward - but Data Discovery can still get it wrong;
Notie that the first rows in the expected column makes it impossible to determine if we are talking about mm-dd-yyyy or dd-mm-yyyy.
Because of this - the dates are misinterpreted by data discovery when we add it as a data source.
To make sure that Data Discovery interprets the dates correctly - you should right click the data source and choose column types.
Now we need to type in the date pattern to make sure that the dates are understood:
This is done for both Expected and Actual columns.
Now we have a data source that interprets the dates correctly.
