When you enrich filter delegate by also using local filters you can identify a group with certain characteristics back in time, and examine those people/products/customers in another timeframe.
If you're not familiar with the basics of filter delegate, please refer to this article before continuing reading.
Sales Data Example
In this analysis we want to understand the behaviour of our customer base better.
So the graph below on the left-hand side shows top 20 products with a local filter saying one year and one month back in time.
The graph is set up for filter delegate - and the delegated dimension is the customer dimension, so a drill will generate a filter containing all the customers who bought that item one year and one month back in time.
The 2 KPIs on the right hand side shows the total bought by those customers - the top KPI has a local filter identical to the filter on the graph, while the lower KPI has a local filter just going one month back.
The customers who bought this item more than a year ago bought significantly less in total than last year can be learned from the analysis.
