Dynamic Date Origin

When working with Dynamic Criteria like 'Year-to-date', 'Previous month', 'Yesterday' etc. the criteria will by default be resolved according to the TARGIT Server's system time. I.e., if today is 4th of June 2025 according to the TARGIT Server's system time, then a 'Previous month' dynamic criteria would render data for all of May 2025.

As an end-user, in the Windows client as well as in the Anywhere client, you may however simulate a different "today". This is done with the Dynamic Date Origin setting.

Setting Dynamic Date Origin to a different date

In the Windows client, the Dynamic Date Origin setting is available from the Criteria Smartpad.

Note: You will only be able to see it if you already applied a Dynamic Criteria.

When you set a new date with the Dynamic Date Origin date picker, all Dynamic Criteria will be based on that date as the new "today".

In the Windows client, as a Designer user, you can also choose to add the Dynamic Date Origin date picker to the Criteria bar. Right click the Criteria bar to add it.

Likewise, in the Anywhere client, if the Dynamic Date Origin date picker has been added to the Criteria bar, you can select a different "today".

Note: The format of the date in the Anywhere client is determined by the browser language setting. Above screenshot is with US English settings. Below is what it will look like with e.g., Danish settings.
