Trigger to run scheduled job

This trigger will enable end-users - with a click of a button in a dashboard - to run a scheduled job.

Use cases:

  • Data has been updated and the user do no want to wait until next scheduled run.
  • As preparation for an ad-hoc meeting, the user wants to bring the most recent data in a report.
  • A scheduled job has failed, and knowing that the root cause has been fixed, the job is restarted manually.

Note: Anyone with access to a dashboard with a 'Run Scheduled Job' trigger will be able to run the job. No user permission check is performed when using such a trigger.

As a Designer user, when setting up a trigger, select the 'Scheduled Job' and 'Run Scheduled Job' options in Trigger properties.
